Broken Smile

I'm so upset.

Last night Will and I were sitting in the backyard watching Sophia play in the sprinklers. She started spinning in circles under the water, and lost her balance. She fell head first into the side of the metal fire pit, and we both new instantly it was a bad fall. I scooped her up and noticed right away that her 2 front teeth were chipped. There was no blood and she calmed down quickly after some Tylenol and snuggles, but I'm not handling it quite as well.

These are the teeth she's going to have for the next several years, and I'm devastated that her beautiful perfect smile has been damaged. I'm going to make her a dentist appt on Monday and see if there is anything that should or can be done.

Here are some pics of her broken smile....

Sorry, but I speak from experience that they will say it is totally fine and they will do nothing because they are baby teeth and will eventually fall out...so I am afraid this is it till she gets her permanent teeth....again, sorry.

Oh no! It looks like if they were to file it off the chipped ones would be shorter than the ones next to it. I doubt they will want to do anything. At least she looks happy and doesn't know any better.

Poor Baby! She must have fallen pretty hard to break her teeth, and I'm just so thankful she wasn't injured. It could have been so much worse. I fell and broke my teeth just like hers--one broken more than the other--but I was thirteen. Tell her Nana understands. (I also understand how upsetting this is for Mommy and Daddy.) She's still the prettiest little girl in California. I miss her and can't wait to see her again.
Love,
Nana
